The End of the Pardot Classic App – Get Pardot Lightning Today!

The time has come, the Pardot Classic App will no longer be accessible soon. But when will this happen, what does it mean and what should you do?

What is the Pardot Classic App?

Pardot Classic is an app inside of Salesforce where the pi.pardot.com user interface is displayed within an iframe. This was the only way users were able to access Pardot inside of Salesforce up until 2019 – when the Pardot Lightning App was released.

One of the announcements from Salesforce’s Winter ‘22 release was that the Classic App would be retiring in both Salesforce Classic and Salesforce Lightning. Why is this happening? Well, as well as mitigating against any future security vulnerabilities and ensuring Pardot customers’ data remains secure, the Classic App is based on an old UI and doesn’t include the latest tools for automation, and some great integration features with Salesforce.

What does it mean for the users?

You can still use it up until 17th October 2022. However, some users may have seen this change happen sooner. On October 11, 2021, new Pardot customers and current Pardot customers – who did not access the Pardot Classic App between July – September 2021 – will lose their access.

Alternatively, you can still navigate to the legacy Pardot application via ‘pi.pardot.com’ and log in using your Salesforce credentials. That won’t be affected by this change.

However, we recommend that all users take full advantage of using the Pardot Lightning App. It was created to replace the Classic App eventually, by allowing Sales and Marketing teams to operate side by side on a single platform. Not only are you missing out on exclusive Pardot Lightning features, but it’s also the latest UI which won’t be going anywhere for the foreseeable future. So why not get used to it now?
