Marketing Cloud for Account Engagement customers – What, How and Why?

As an Account Engagement User, you’ll have seen this banner displayed since the Winter ’25 release prompting you to explore what is new in Marketing Cloud. But what is available, how can we access it and why? Let’s get into it!

Marketing Cloud Growth edition was announced in February 2024 for small-medium B2B businesses in the US. Since then, there’s been a rapid Global rollout and heavy development in the new marketing offering. So it’s no surprise that as Account Engagement users we are now seeing it pop up in our day to day experience. Let’s have a super quick recap on the Salesforce Marketing Automation Platform offerings:

What is available for Account Engagement Users?

At Dreamforce, Salesforce announced that all Account Engagement customers will have access to Marketing Cloud for ‘free’.

Marketing Cloud is build on the core platform – it’s made up of existing apps, features and assets as explained here. But in summary, it’s Data Cloud, Campaigns, Digital Experiences (formerly CMS) and Flows – just repackaged for marketing use cases.

How to take advantage of Marketing Cloud features?

The main prerequisite as an Account Engagement customer is to enable Data Cloud if you don’t already have it. There is a free version available that gives a limited amount of credits, learn more here. Salesforce Foundations can also provide limited access to some Data cloud and Marketing Cloud capabilities, with credits. Learn more about Salesforce Foundations here.
