New: Get Demo Orgs for 20+ Salesforce Products

When I started with Salesforce, the Demo Org (Developer Edition org) was my go-to for everything. Before the days of Trailhead, scratch orgs, and the now many different products on offer, my Demo Org was where I went to try things – it was all I really needed.
Fast forward to today and that’s not the case anymore. There are so many different products the standard Demo Org just doesn’t cover. Here, we go through the various free editions or trials you can set up to learn about these specific products.
Salesforce Demo Org
A Salesforce Demo Org is a special Salesforce edition that gives you a full-featured Salesforce environment to develop and test existing or new features and test your own custom applications. It’s completely free, and it never expires. I signed up to my first developer org in 2014 and still use it almost every day.
Pardot Demo Org
As above, but with Pardot (Account Engagement) built in. Previously, you had to create a Pardot Training Environment, but this is no longer the case and you can set up a demo org with Pardot included.
CPQ Demo Org
Another one similar to the Salesforce Demo Org, this time with CPQ features built in. Perfect if you want to learn more about the Salesforce quote to cash offering.
CRM Analytics Trial
This trial edition org is similar to a demo org, but it has CRM Analytics features baked into it. There are actually two ways you can sign up for an analytics org.
The first gives you a 30-day trial org to play with before you have to pay. The second way to get a CRM Analytics trial org is via the Trailhead CRM Analytics Superbadge – which may be a better option as this isn’t restricted to a 30-day trial period.
OmniStudio Trial
The OmniStudio Demo Org has all the data you need for your hands-on practice in the OmniStudio Trailhead modules. This special org has a trial period of 180 days.
MuleSoft Trial
You can sign up to the following MuleSoft Trial to develop APIs and integrations with the MuleSoft Anypoint platform to connect apps, data and devices. This has a trial period of 30 days.
Tableau Trial
Another 30-day trial. This gives you access to Tableau and allows you to create extensions or build data connectors to embed vizzes into other business applications.
Slack Free Tier
A free edition of Slack which you can easily link with your Salesforce org. Perfect for testing many of the new features available between Salesforce and Slack.
Quip Trial
A free trial of Quip, ideal for trialing the Quip platform with your Salesforce org. This is a 30-day trial.
Salesforce Industries Trials
There are a number of industry-specific trial orgs available, all on a 30-day basis. All of these have two options available: a learning org and a base org.
A learning org comes with a full-featured, configured, trial experience with sample data and feature discoverability navigation. A base org comes with a full-featured, unconfigured trial experience. Both trials are for 30 days.
Loyalty Management Trial
This 30-day trial experience is a full-featured, unconfigured trial experience. It contains three different product offerings: Loyalty Management, Experience Cloud, and Tableau CRM for Loyalty Management.
Public Sector Cloud Trial
This 30-day trial experience is a full-featured, unconfigured trial experience, containing a number of products including Public Sector Solutions, Experience Cloud for Public Sector, Public Sector Mobile Inspection, Tableau CRM for Public Sector, Salesforce Maps, Salesforce Scheduler, and Shield.
Nonprofit Success Pack
This 30-day trial of the Nonprofit Success Pack (NPSP) is a nonprofit data model for fundraising and program management, built with a holistic view of every constituent.
K-12 Education Trial
This 30-day trial of the Education Cloud for K-12 provides a single architecture that empowers schools and districts to collaborate, engage with families and operationalize improvement efforts. All of this is made possible by 360-degree views of students’ needs and outcomes.
Other trials:
Summary
The Salesforce catalog of products and services is now enormous. It used to be that you could learn the majority of features from a basic Demo Org, but that’s no longer the case. Hopefully, this article has helped in giving some direction for learning these products through the different Salesforce Demo Orgs.
